Explore Skiathos at Your Own Pace
Greece is one of the few countries in the world where you can legally rent and operate a motor boat without any qualification or prior experience. Boats up to 30HP are classified as leisure craft — all you need is your passport and a sense of adventure.
Our no-license fleet features modern, easy-to-handle vessels. These boats are stable, fully equipped, and the best way for families, couples, and first-timers to explore the Skiathos coastline on their own terms.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the engine size limit for no-license boating in Greece?
Greek maritime law (Presidential Decree 23/2000) permits anyone to operate a motorboat with up to 30HP without any license. This covers our entire 30HP self-drive fleet. You must be at least 18 years old.
I have never driven a boat before — is it safe?
Absolutely. Our 30HP boats are specifically designed for beginners. They have simple tiller or wheel steering, automatic choke engines, and are very stable. Before departure, our team gives a full briefing covering controls, anchoring, navigation zones, and safety procedures. Most first-timers feel completely confident within 10 minutes on the water.
How far can I travel on a 30HP boat?
Our no-license boats are restricted to within 1 nautical mile of the Skiathos coastline — this is a safety regulation, not just a company rule. Within that zone, you can reach most of the south coast beaches, Tsougria island, and many hidden coves. It's more than enough for a fantastic day.
What documents do I need to bring?
Just a valid passport or national ID card (required by Greek maritime law for all rentals) and a credit or debit card for the security deposit. No license, certificate, or prior experience required.
How many people can fit on a no-license boat?
Our self-drive boats have capacities ranging from 2 to 5 persons. We always recommend leaving space for comfort on a full day. Children count as passengers. Exceeding listed capacity is strictly prohibited by Greek law.
