About Mikros Aselinos
Mikros Aselinos (Little Aselinos) is the smaller, more intimate counterpart to Megali Aselinos, located approximately 12 km northwest of Skiathos Town. While Megali Aselinos is a long, wild stretch of sand, Mikros Aselinos is a compact, partly-organized cove surrounded by verdant hills that create a more sheltered and tranquil atmosphere. It’s one of the most beautiful and least-visited beaches on the island.
Getting There
By Land
A dirt road leads to the area, but it’s rough and requires a 4x4 or quad bike. The last stretch to the beach is on foot. Challenging — most visitors arrive by boat.
By Boat
Mikros Aselinos faces northwest into a small, sheltered cove. From Skiathos Port, a 30HP rental boat reaches Mikros Aselinos in approximately 40–45 minutes following the north coast route past Kastro, Ligaries, and Kechria.
Transfer
A transfer from Skiathos Town takes about 30–35 minutes. Cost: approximately €45–55.
The Beach
Mikros Aselinos is approximately 150 metres of sand in a compact, green-fringed cove. The water is turquoise and clear. It’s partly-organized — a small number of sunbeds and a seasonal beach bar — but retains a peaceful, undeveloped character.
Facilities
- Limited sunbeds (€8–10 per set, seasonal)
- Seasonal beach bar with drinks and light snacks (June–September)
- No full restaurant
- No showers
- Natural shade from the surrounding hillside vegetation
The Vibe
If Megali Aselinos is wild and windswept, Mikros Aselinos is sheltered and serene. The green hills wrap around the cove, creating a more intimate environment. It’s the kind of beach where you can hear your own breathing — in the best way.
Boat Anchoring Tips
The cove offers decent shelter from northerlies. Anchor in 3–5 metres on sand. The cove is small — space for 2–4 boats.
